You get an eight digit code by email and land in your dashboard within a minute. No card is taken at signup. Your trial has an end date, shown under Billing. Before it ends, add a card there (in Nigeria, fund your wallet by bank transfer) and billing then runs by itself on the 1st of each month. If nothing is on file when the trial ends, nothing is charged: your dashboard says Payment Needed, and after a week it goes read-only until you add one. Nothing is deleted.
Instagram: about three minutes from your setup checklist, answering as soon as your knowledge base is published. WhatsApp: about ten minutes to connect with your Facebook login, from a number that is not on the WhatsApp app; WhatsApp then checks your business name, which can take a day, and asks for a card on your own WhatsApp business account for the messages it charges for. Start to finish, most businesses are answering on Instagram the same afternoon and on WhatsApp within a day. If anything gets in the way, a person connects it with you the same day.
Not for Instagram. For WhatsApp you need a number that is not currently signed in to a personal WhatsApp app on a phone. A landline works, and so does a number you already use for business.
